UWB, or Ultra-Wideband

is a wireless technology that uses a wide range of frequencies for short-range, high-bandwidth communications, enabling high-precision location tracking and data transmission. It is used for applications like precise indoor positioning, secure keyless entry in cars, secure mobile payments, and real-time tracking of people and objects

Key capabilities and uses High-precision location: UWB can measure the distance between devices with centimeter-level accuracy, which is more precise than technologies like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Spatial awareness: It enables devices to sense their surroundings with a high degree of spatial accuracy. Secure access: UWB is ideal for secure digital keys for cars and homes, ensuring that only authorized devices can gain access. High-bandwidth data transmission: Despite its low power usage, UWB can transmit data at high rates. Automated systems: Its spatial awareness allows for seamless automation in smart homes, such as automatically controlling lighting or doors.

How it works UWB uses a very wide bandwidth, defined as over 500 MHz, which allows for a high-bandwidth signal to be spread across a large portion of the radio spectrum. This wide bandwidth and low power spectral density means it causes very little interference with conventional radio systems. It determines location using techniques like Time of Flight (ToF) and Angle of Arrival (AoA)

The data is then relayed through a central Gateway to the Meshworx Cloud Platform, where it's visualised, analysed, and turned into actionable insights.
